Dia menciptakan manusia dari segumpal darah. اِقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْاَكْرَمُۙ Iqra' wa rabbukal-akramu. Bacalah! Tuhanmulah Yang Mahamulia, الَّذِيْ عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِۙ Allażī allama bil-qalami. yang mengajar manusia dengan pena. عَلَّمَ الْاِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْۗ Allamal-insāna mā lam yalam. Dia mengajarkan manusia apa yang tidak diketahuinya. كَلَّآ اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغٰىٓ ۙ Kallā innal-insāna layaṭgā. Sekali-kali tidak! Sesungguhnya manusia itu benar-benar melampaui batas اَنْ رَّاٰهُ اسْتَغْنٰىۗ Ar ra'āhustagnā. ketika melihat dirinya serba berkecukupan. اِنَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعٰىۗ Inna ilā rabbikar-rujā. Sesungguhnya hanya kepada Tuhanmulah tempat kembali-mu. اَرَاَيْتَ الَّذِيْ يَنْهٰىۙ Ara'aital-lażī yanhā. Tahukah kamu tentang orang yang melarang عَبْدًا اِذَا صَلّٰىۗ Abdan iżā ṣallā. seorang hamba ketika dia melaksanakan salat? اَرَاَيْتَ اِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدٰىٓۙ Ara'aita in kāna alal-hudā. Bagaimana pendapatmu kalau terbukti dia berada di dalam kebenaran اَوْ اَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوٰىۗ Au amara bit-taqwā. atau dia menyuruh bertakwa kepada Allah? اَرَاَيْتَ اِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰىۗ Ara'aita in każżaba wa tawallā. Bagaimana pendapatmu kalau dia mendustakan kebenaran dan berpaling dari keimanan? اَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَرٰىۗ Alam yalam bi'annallāha yarā. Tidakkah dia mengetahui bahwa sesungguhnya Allah melihat segala perbuatannya? كَلَّا لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ يَنْتَهِ ەۙ لَنَسْفَعًاۢ بِالنَّاصِيَةِۙ Kallā la'il lam yantahi, lanasfaam bin-nāṣiyahti. Sekali-kali tidak! Sungguh, jika dia tidak berhenti berbuat demikian, niscaya Kami tarik ubun-ubunnya ke dalam neraka, نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍۚ Nāṣiyatin kāżibatin khāṭi'ahtin. yaitu ubun-ubun orang yang mendustakan kebenaran dan durhaka. فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهٗۙ Falyadu nādiyahū. Biarlah dia memanggil golongannya untuk menolongnya. سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَۙ Sanaduz-zabāniyahta. Kelak Kami akan memanggil Malaikat Zabaniah penyiksa orang-orang yang berdosa. كَلَّاۗ لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ ۩ ࣖ Kallā, lā tuṭihu wasjud waqtarib. Sekali-kali tidak!
